On Ramp Forestry Training Camp

- How to assess water quality in a pond and a creek
- How to conduct a tree core sample and calculate the value of a tree
- How to restore fish habitat and evaluate water use challenges
- How to restore stream banks through planting native species and removing invasive species
- To understand Indigenous People’s approach to land management
- How ecological restoration is conducted using traditional knowledge
- How to read topographic maps and use GPS
- To understand the Fire Triangle
- To use firefighting tools including infrared drones
- How to build a fire line and conduct a controlled burn
- How to make biochar from slash piles
- and more!
You will need to wear long pants and shirt appropriate for work in the forest. Masks will be required.
